Where does the name "Moonstone" come from?
The name "moonstone" comes from its lunar reflections caused by the diffraction of light and reminiscent of the celestial body.
What is the color of Moonstone?
The gem can vary from colorless to yellow but always has bluish reflections in the light. This luminous phenomenon which seems to slide over the entire surface of the stone during pivoting is called adularescence.
What is its symbolism?
Today, the moonstone symbolizes imagination and creativity as well as the births of June, like the pearl.
Where does it come from?
The main deposits are located in Sri Lanka but can also be found in Brazil, the United States, India, Madagascar and Myanmar.
How do I take care of my jewel set with a Moonstone?
The perfect cleavage of moonstone makes it sensitive to excessively violent shocks, which is why ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended.
In addition, if steam cleaning is possible, it is rather advisable to wash it with running water.
