Where does the word "Tsavorite" come from?

The name “tsavorite” comes from his lodge in Tsavo National Park (Kenya)

What is the color of Tsavorite?

Tsavorite is green in color, varying from pale green to emerald green.

Where does it come from?

Discovered in 1974 in Kenya and Tanzania, tsavorite is mainly mined in these two countries.

However, we can also find deposits of this stone in Madagascar and Quebec, but in very small quantities.

How do I maintain my jewel set with a Tsavorite?

Tsavorite, like garnet, should be kept away from extreme temperatures since thermal shock is likely to cause damage to the gem. Dishwashing liquid with a little water on a microfiber cloth will be enough to restore the shine of the stone.
